"The LWGA are very hopeful 2021 league matches may be played in their current four-ball match play format and like you we are looking forward to being back on the course. Once we are given the go-ahead to play golf, we would like your league matches to be played.
However we may need to change the way we play this year to comply with Government and England Golf Covid-19 safety regulations and guidelines. Matches may be in a slightly different format and we are considering the following:
a) If only two-balls are permitted, then a team of 5 players should play singles match-play.
b) In the event of further lockdowns matches should be rescheduled, where possible, and the deadline for playing matches would be extended to mid-September.
c) If the Tier system is reintroduced, we would need to see how many matches would be affected and update our plan.
As you are all aware we are living in strange times, the situation is fluid and we have to adapt accordingly. As soon as we know for certain golf is back in our diaries, we will confirm how the league should be played.
In the meantime, stay safe, practicing your garden chipping and lounge putting."
