Girls Golf Celebration Days
I hope you are well and the Season of Junior Golf is going great!
I am getting in touch about an exciting opportunity that the Golf Foundation are hosting in September. As part of 2019 being our ‘Year of Girls Golf’, we are hosting GIRLS GOLF CELEBRATION DAYS!!!
We would like to invite girls from your facility to take part in this exciting Golf day which is designed to celebrate Girls Golf participation and leadership! We would like to welcome girls that have come through a Golf Foundation project over the last couple of years, whether this be through HSBC Golf Roots Centre project, a club or school taster, your club coaching programme, a satellite club, School Games event, girls targeted project or the joint initiative with England Golf, Girls Golf Rocks – to name a few examples!
The idea is that Girls will be able to enter individually, in pairs or in teams from their club. Girls who enter individually from a club will be paired with a Girl from another club. They will take part in a Golf Sixes short course event as well as getting involved in some peripheral activities too.
Peripheral activities are yet to be confirmed but they are likely to be themed around:
· Face Painting – Europe Vs. USA flags (Solheim Cup style!)
· Hair Designs – Girls will have the opportunity to get their hair designed with the Solheim Cup coloured ribbons (just like the female players they may see on TV at the Solheim Cup)
· Pick and Mix stand
· Selfie Booth
· Other activities TBC
There are 2 elements of entry:
· Girls with a handicap of 36 and above or no handicap – we would like invite you to take part in the peripheral activities, as well as the Golf Sixes 6 hole short course event. There are 48 places available in total and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
· Girls with a handicap below 36 – we would like to invite you to take on a leadership role on the day. This could be chaperoning Girls around the course and helping with scoring, running a peripheral activity, welcoming and registering participants on arrival – to name a few examples. You will also have the opportunity to access the peripheral activities
The North of England event is taking place on Sunday 8th September 2019, 1.30-6pm at Elsham Golf Club (Brigg, North Lincolnshire). The entry fee is FREE, as this event is being funded by the Golf Foundation.
Bookings are now being taken and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please note there are only 48 place available. If you would like to book your space, please complete the attached form and return to me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The closing date for receipt of bookings is Friday 23rd August 2019.
If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I will look forward to receiving bookings from parents and your golf club.
